This morning at the E12 Auditorium of UIT, the UIT Data Science Challenge 2025 officially came to a close — marking the end of an inspiring journey of creativity, perseverance, and innovation. Among the many outstanding teams, URA-xLaw made its mark in Division A by winning Second Prize and securing a spot in the Top 4 Most Favorite Projects, achieving a remarkable “double win” for the URA Research Group.
Led by Nguyễn Song Thiên Long, and joined by Lê Ngọc Hùng Dũng, Võ Thị Như Quỳnh, and Bùi Minh Quân, under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Quản Thành Thơ (Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, HCMUT) and Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Thái (Deputy Director of Viettel Solutions), the team introduced URA-xLaw — a LegalTech platform designed to assist legal officers and compliance specialists in the banking sector.

The project impressed the judges with its ability to handle the complexities of Vietnamese law through natural language processing and knowledge-graph technology. By enabling users to query legal documents, compare versions, and visualize relationships among laws through its LawGraph system, URA-xLaw turns hours of manual document reading into seconds of transparent, traceable, and accurate results. The system also highlights the effective date and legal source of each reference, ensuring credibility and regulatory compliance.
The team envisions expanding URA-xLaw to other sectors such as securities, insurance, corporate compliance, and public procurement, moving toward a comprehensive LegalTech ecosystem for Vietnam.
More than an award, this victory symbolizes the URA spirit — turning research into real-world impact. The success at UIT Data Science Challenge 2025 reaffirms URA’s commitment to innovation, teamwork, and societal contribution — and, as always, to the belief that great technology begins with human purpose.
