On the afternoon of July 16th, 2025, at the VNPT Lab, members of URA group had the opportunity to meet and talk with Ms. Trần Ngọc Oanh, an HCMUT alumna who is currently a Research Assistant at VinUni. Although it was just a small sharing session, what Ms. Oanh brought was incredibly insightful and inspiring.
During the talk, Ms. Oanh provided a clear and practical overview of what the role of a Research Assistant (RA) at VinUni entails — from technical skills, self-learning, and teamwork, to the importance of maintaining long-term motivation in an academic environment. She also shared her personal journey, from the early, uncertain steps to eventually finding a meaningful path in research. Especially valuable were her suggestions drawn from real experience — such as how to choose a suitable research direction — offering students practical and relatable perspectives. The URA members listened attentively.
The Q&A session was lively, with many questions raised, ranging from technical concerns to personal development and career planning. Ms. Oanh answered warmly, openly, and supportively, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. We truly hope the URA group will continue to organize more meaningful and inspiring sharing sessions like this in the future. Thank you, Ms. Oanh, for returning to HCMUT to pass on your passion and experience to the next generation.
