A high school team from Unlimited Research Group of AI (URA) achieved an impressive milestone. With core members Nguyen Gia Huy, Khuu Gia Bao, and Nguyen Thanh Tuan, the team represented Watt’up Debuggers Club from Ngo Quyen High School, Ho Chi Minh City. Under the guidance of Prof. Quan Thanh Tho and Mr. Nguyen Song Thien Long, they secured third place at the Ho Chi Minh City AI Challenge 2024 for their solution to the topic Event Retrieval from Visual Data. Building on their success, and with mentorship from URA, the team further developed their solution. This effort led to the publication of their research paper titled “RAPID: Retrieval-Augmented Parallel Inference Drafting for Text-Based Video Event Retrieval”. The paper was presented at the 13th International Symposium on Information and Communication Technology (SOICT 2024), held in Da Nang on December 13–14, 2024. This achievement reflects the dedication and talent of the team, as well as URA’s mission to inspire and support young AI enthusiasts. Their journey stands as a shining example of how collaboration, mentorship, and passion can drive meaningful contributions to AI research.
