This morning at CSE Summer School 2025, we witnessed a truly remarkable event that completely reversed the traditional educational paradigm: “The Special Class” where first-year students of HCMUT stepped into the role of instructors for seasoned industry engineers. The atmosphere was electric as these young students, barely a year into their academic journey, confidently guided professionals with years of industry experience through the creation of AI agent systems. What made this session truly extraordinary wasn’t just the role reversal, but the impressive results achieved in such a short timeframe.
The program witnessed the participation of engineers from prominent HCMC firms including IVS, CT Group, and other leading technology companies in the region. These industry professionals came with extensive practical experience but were eager to learn about the latest developments in AI agent technology from their young instructors.

Within just 30 minutes, each team successfully developed a functional AI agent system, ready for demonstration and reporting. The industry engineers, initially skeptical, quickly became engaged learners, asking questions and working collaboratively with their young “teachers.”.
The first-year students approached their teaching roles with remarkable confidence and clarity. Having recently completed intensive coursework on the latest AI agent frameworks, they were able to distill complex concepts into accessible instruction. As the session concluded, the room buzzed with excitement as each team presented their AI agent systems. The quality of work produced in such a short timeframe left many observers astonished. This innovative approach to knowledge exchange not only boosted the confidence of the student instructors but also reminded the industry professionals of the value of remaining open to learning from unexpected sources. The success of “The Special Class” suggests a promising model for future collaborations between academia and industry.
