On January 9, 2025, at the “Five-Good Student Awards and Bach Khoa Youth Awards Ceremony,” the CSE Summer School 2024 was honored as the Best Program of the Year at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). This recognition underscores the remarkable success of the program, organized by the Unlimited Research Group of AI (URA) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
The CSE Summer School 2024 was designed to equip professionals and students, especially high school participants, with in-depth knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) during its two-day event, held from August 28–29, 2024. Attendees had the privilege of learning from esteemed experts, including Assoc. Prof. Quan Thanh Tho (Dean of the Faculty of CSE, HCMUT) and Assoc. Prof. Le Anh Cuong (Head of the Computer Science Department, Ton Duc Thang University). The curriculum spanned from fundamental concepts to advanced applications, focusing on the practical deployment of LLMs – a cutting-edge trend in computer science. A highlight of the program was the CSE Hackathon 2024, an exclusive challenge for high school students. Participants were tasked with developing a fully functional chatbot using self-trained LLMs, with an emphasis on healthcare solutions.
This prestigious award reflects the CSE Summer School’s significant impact in fostering innovation, bridging academic and professional communities, and inspiring the next generation of technology leaders.
