08.09.2025: Opening Highlights of the Agentic AI Summer School 2025 at HUST

The Summer School on Agentic AI took place from September 8 to September 12, 2025, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The event was organized by the School of Information and Communication Technology (SoICT, HUST) and co-sponsored by SAMSUNG Group and NAVER Corporation from Korea. The program attracted students, researchers, and practitioners who shared an interest in the emerging paradigm of Agentic AI.

On the opening day, members of the URA Research Group participated in the event, including Prof. Quan Thanh Tho, Nguyen Song Thien Long, and Vo Thi Nhu Quynh. The occasion also provided an opportunity to connect with Dr. Tran Minh Quan, Senior Developer Technologist from NDVIA, which laid the groundwork for potential collaborations and fostered expectations of further meetings and exchanges in the near future.

The academic program began with a plenary lecture delivered by Prof. Tho, who provided a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of Artificial Intelligence and the shift toward agentic paradigms. His talk was organized into four main parts, beginning with an Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), followed by an exploration of AI Agents, a discussion on Agents, LLM and RAG, and concluding with A Case Study at HCMUT. This structure offered participants both a solid theoretical grounding and an applied perspective, bridging fundamentals with advanced topics.

The Captivating Lecture by Prof. Tho

The lecture not only provided valuable insights but also sparked extensive discussions among participants. Many attendees engaged in conversations about the opportunities and challenges of applying agentic AI in different domains, reflecting the depth and relevance of the topic. These discussions opened potential avenues for future collaboration and research, highlighting the role of Agentic AI as a driver of innovation.

Following the lecture, the academic program included a live demo session. Nguyen Song Thien Long, one of the student participants, conducted a case study demonstration that illustrated how the theoretical concepts presented in the lecture could be put into practice. His demo complemented the slides by Prof. Tho and provided a concrete example of how agentic AI can be implemented in real-world contexts.

Together, the lecture and demo set a strong foundation for the summer school. They not only equipped participants with conceptual insights and practical experiences but also created an engaging atmosphere that encouraged critical dialogue and paved the way for future developments in this promising field.
